Marianna Keyser has been passionate about art since her childhood and qualified as a textile designer after school. However after a few years she decided to make a drastic change in her life and career. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant and joined the Corporate world for 17 years. During this time any attention devoted to art was mostly part time. However seven years ago she decided to rekindle her passion and paint full time. Since then she has been awarded “BEST ON SHOW” at an open exhibition and a few highly “HIGHLY COMMENDED” awards at exhibits held at the Watercolour society of South Africa to which she is an Associate member and has held a few solo exhibitions. She has dabbled in a few mediums and is inspired by everyday works of art, people and their limitless expressions as well as the play and fall of light there on. She is continuously challenged to move further away from the “picture perfect image” and to rather create an artists impression of the subject. She has also recently decided to pursue her interest in printmaking, its unique qualities and possibilities by signing up as pupil with the `Blue door studio, tutored and run, by Collin Cole. Her works are in Private collections in USA,Australia and Europe can be viewed in various galleries across South Africa.
