Deon Stolz

Born in Johannesburg in 1959, Deon Stolz started his career as an artist in 1998. Early in his career, he was mentored by renowned artist Mark Enslin, who taught him the basics of technique, composition and design.

Coming from a family with a long line of artists, it is no surprise that art came naturally to Deon. He finds his inspiration in his subject matter, the female form. He particularly enjoys their mysterious expressiveness and aims to capture calm, serenity and a specific mood with each painting.

His paintings are instantly recognizable by the beautiful play of natural light on his subjects, highlighting their elegance. Deon’s preferred medium is oil on canvas and his style can be described as a realistic look achieved with strategically placed bold brush strokes.

Deon now lives on the West Coast, where he spends his free time enjoying the ocean with his two daughters.
