Katie Grobler

Katie Grobler grew up in Johannesburg and eventually settled in the sleepy coastal town of Knysna in the Eastern Cape.

Katie has always been able to draw and loves drawing, but only started painting on canvas in 2009. Although she was introduced to painting at school, she had no formal training in oils since then. She started painting enamelware to practice her craft and eventually settled into a niche subject matter that appealed to her fondness of vintage collectibles. Indulging in her artistic and retro sensibilities, she started painting as many enamelware pieces she could find and now sports an extensive collection of enamel jugs and coffee pots, many borrowed from friends and neighbours!

Katie sells her paintings at the Scarab Art & Craft Market in Sedgefield and at Voilá coffee & art shop in Grahamstown as part of the Art Walk at the National Arts Festival. She exhibits exclusively with The Lonehill Art Gallery outside of the Eastern Cape.
