Nthando Ngwenya

Nthando Ngwenya was born in Amanzimtoti, and lived with his gramdmother in KZN. At the age of 14, Nthando moved to Johannesburg, where he lived with his mentor. He eventually moved in with his sister, and completed his schooling in Soweto.

He is a self-taught artist, working predominantly in mixed medium, using pen, ink, water colours, and acrylics. During the 2013 “Black Like Us” exhibition, Nthando was nominated as the best newcomer in the water colour category. He exhibites in various galleries in Johannesburg, and his work has been sold to numerous foreign collectors.
