Pamela Quinlan
Following in her mother’s footsteps, Pamela Quinlan took up water colour painting in 2002, specializing in landscape and wildlife studies. Since relocating to the False Bay area in 2011, she has been inspired by the sea in all its’ moods and delights in rendering the brilliant colours of the fishing boats and other Cape seascapes. Pam Quinlan could be considered a master with water colors and she is adept at landscapes and seascapes as well as wildlife art. The realism she captures in her animal portraits and the sense of mood and space in her landscapes is testament to a great artistic talent. The skill with which she manipulates the brush strokes with a typically precise medium is subtle and effective. Her works range from tranquil costal scenes to charging elephants, galloping herds of zebra or the solace of majestic Baobab trees. It would seem that she is at ease with any subject matter and her work suggests she is a technically gifted and instinctive artist.
