Penelope Hunter

From the start of 2004, Penelope Hunter has painted full time. Experimenting with various mediums and techniques, she has become an accomplished wildlife artist.

“I paint a variety of subject matter, from the human form, to insects! Much of my work has an organic feel, often with heavy texture and elements of abstraction. It is difficult for me to say what my favourite medium is – I really enjoy the versatility of oils and I’m also a huge fan of acrylic, charcoal, pastels, mixed media.”

Penny continues on a creative path, and exhibits at galleries locally and in the UK. She enjoys receiving commissions which include portraits, figures, landscapes, wildlife and other special requests. “I gain much artistic input from my father, Geoff Hunter. I wish to emulate his skill in his specialty of wildlife painting. We would like to contribute to the awareness and appreciation of the South African wilderness through visual art.”
