Phillip Britz
Phillip Britz was born in 1966 in Johannesburg but grew up on a farm outside Klerksdorp. Phillip learned to paint from his father BE Britz who was a self-taught artist. After matric he worked on the mine in Welkom where he took a few art classes from Alda Van Biljon, but he very soon realised that the knowledge he had picked up over the years by watching his father paint was sufficient for him to find his own unique style. Eighteen years ago, he made the decision to become a full time artist. Since then, he has exhibited in Embassies and various local galleries. His work is sought after by local and foreign collectors.
